Reception Outdoor Maths – How big was a T-Rex?

We had a great time outside this morning thinking about how big dinosaurs really were. First we measured how tall we are. Next we estimated how tall a T-Rex might have been using sticks. Finally we used string to find out their real height.

We had to work together to measure ourselves.
A T-Rex was around 6 metres tall.
A Brachiosaurus was between 12 and 16 metres tall!
