Our week in the Ladybirds class…’We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’
Tagged Tags: ,

This week we have enjoyed reading and learning our new story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen. We have loved our outdoor learning sessions exploring creative movement and music to the story (no photos of these unfortunately as we were all having too much fun!). We also went on a Sensory walk through the story.

In Maths we have been exploring shapes! We can name all of the 2D shapes and we are learning the names of some 3D shapes: cubes, cuboids and spheres. We went on a ‘SHAPE hunt’ (no bears this time) to see what shapes we could find inside and outside our class.

Our independent ‘Must Do Jobs’ this week also used shapes! Our challenges were to make a bear using 2D shapes and to build a bridge for the children to cross the river using 3D shapes.

We also developed our coding skills by learning to use arrows. We helped the bear to get home to his cave.

Finally this week we voted for our new Reception Eco Committee members!
