5 things you need to know before sending your children to school or childcare

Home Learning

Dear Parents/Carers,

We will be uploading resources on to the school website via class blogs on a weekly basis to enable you to supervise learning at home with your child. However, our major concern in these unprecedented times is the health and well-being of our pupils and families. We understand that home learning will be new to many of you, and that due to current circumstances you will be asked to undertake a role that might potentially cause conflict within the home, such as pupils refusing to complete tasks set. We are well aware of the strain that asking children to complete homework can put parents under alongside other pressures that you may be currently facing.

We believe that you as parents/careers are best placed to decide when, or indeed if, any activities should be undertaken. Please decide what is feasible and be reassured that we understand if activities are not completed. If you try something that seems too difficult try something else. Whatever decisions you make you have our full support.

Whilst some parents can communicate through their child’s account on platforms such as Seesaw, Hwb and Teams, we are asking you to direct any urgent questions or concerns you may have through the main school email address. This is gowerton.primary@swansea-edunet.gov.uk

As circumstance will undoubtedly change over the coming weeks and months please be assured that we will review systems accordingly and make any changes that are required. We are thinking of you all and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Mrs Ralph and all of the staff at Gowerton Primary School.
